Plant tree upside down?

In our local botanical garden a group of school kids have put a tree in a pot upside down, so that the pot and roots are up in the sky and the tip of the tree is near the ground. What whii happen? Will the tree make a U-turn and start growing up towards the sky again, and the roots down to the earth? Or will the tree die?



This is a recent experiment, so it will take ages to see what happens. Has someone tried this before?

In Primary school we did a similiar experiment with bean plants , it usually did a "u-turn" , but im sure it also depends on the ability of the said plant to adapt and the conditions , etc , if properly nourished ,and ideal climatic conditons for the said , plant , the stem should turn towards the sun , like with "normal" plants you usually see the branches and leaves leaning towards the sun in order to get more sunlight for photosynthesis.
Reply:I would say " no its going to die" but I suppose the answer before me is correct, it will depend on water and feeding that it receives . It will definately put a lot of strain on the plant.
